Africa Works

Africa Works is a Face to Face Charismatic Communities project dedicated to bringing hope and work to single Zambian woman who adopt and support children orphaned by AIDS.

The aids crisis in Africa has created multitudes of orphans. In African culture, the extended family is responsible for the children. Many single women have taken these children into their home. It is rare for a single woman to earn enough money to support her own children, and as a result, many suffer from hunger, lack of education and adequate housing. The Bishops and church leaders of Zambia and Ghana are asking for support for these families so these children do not end up in orphanages.

Africa Works is a project designed to make it possible for these woman to become independent, self-sufficient heads of their households. For income, the project offers this: F2FCC purchases goods wholesale in the United States and ships them to the women involved in the project. The women sell the products retail and send half the money back to the U.S. so F2FCC can purchase new goods. This cycle promises the start and continuation of a small business.

For housing, the Zambian government has partnered with F2FCC and formed the second part of the project. A Zambian government land development program allows F2FCC to purchase 250 acre parcels for $2025US. F2FCC subdivides the land into 50 hectare parcels, then sells these parcels to the women. They subdivide the land into a twenty-five hectare parcels and five, five hectare parcels. The woman sell the five hectare parcels and use the money to repay F2FCC. On the twenty-five hectare parcel, they can build a house, dig a well and finance a farm or ranch for themselves.

For $2,025.00 or $405.00 each, F2FCC can give 5 woman and their families a home and a way of supporting themselves for the rest of their lives. As F2FCC is repaid, it uses the money to purchase new land and the process continues, helping more orphaned aids victims and the eager, Zambian women.

• Dry cleaners give away the laundry that has not been retrieved. It is packaged and pressed. 50 pieces can start a family business.
• Adopt a family and do this whole project yourself.
• Organize a group of people to do a fundraiser to purchase one 250 hectare parcel.
• Host an ‘Africa Works’ fundraising party, we will send you a video and brochures to raise money.
