Face to Face has worked in Tijuana, Mexico, for nearly 30 years. During monthly mission trips, we bring donated food and supplies, do work projects, share the Word of God, and offer prayer to people.
While we love visiting the people in Tijuana, something has weighed heavily on our hearts: there are an estimated 26,000 children living on the streets. While there are many orphanages in the city, most are full and can’t handle the increasing need.
This is a very serious problem.
Anthony and Holly Luczak (WOO-chek), a young family with two children, recently joined us in Orange, California. Over the last handful of years, they were active in foreign mission work in Mexico, Ecuador and Grenada. They also served on short-term missions to Honduras, Barbados, and around the United States. Anthony and Holly have been praying about the situation in Tijuana, and decided to help us build a home for these children.
We expect to see the kids provided for physically, emotionally and spiritually. Although this will be a huge responsibility, we are willing to take on the responsibility. The orphanage would also be a place for the Face to Face ministry team opportunities to visit, to volunteer, and to provide for the needs of the children.
God can never be outdone in generosity!
This is where your part comes in. Please, PLEASE pray for the children in Tijuana! Pray for the monthly mission trips and for our part in their work. And please pray that the home for orphans would become a reality.
Also, pray about whether God is asking you to make a donation to help these children. We determined that until the home is built, we will need approximately $5,000 per month. This covers the cost of running the home, supplies, gas to drive back and forth to oversee progress, and support for Anthony and Holly as they dedicate themselves fully to this project.
We are always blessed by your generosity. Jesus says that “whoever…gives to one of these little ones even a cup of cold water to drink, truly I say to you, he shall not lose his reward.” (Matt 10:42) This quote also brings to mind another: “God can never be outdone in generosity!” If we give generously, He will provide generously for us.
