Hello from Connecticut! Our Face to Face group has been busy with a number of ministries and we would like to share them with you. We will keep you updated as things unfold.
1) Face to Face Prayer Meeting/Bible Study
Run by Christina LaRosa
We meet weekly. This past Thursday we prayed for a spiritual activation of our gifts that we already have and the ones we need and would like. IT WAS VERY POWERFUL. I used the prayer form that I learned from Mark in Chilelabombue, Africa and we all took turns being prayed over. One person sat in the hot seat and their protection was prayed by the leader. Then everyone spoke out what they got for the person and the leader prayed for the activation and fuller reception and use of the gifts that the Lord was giving us. Very cool.
2) Catholic Underground – St. James Parish, Manchester
Catholic Underground is still running as usual. Joe is heading this up, and Natalie and Sandy help with behind the scenes ops, along with others. Joe P runs the sound equipment and George B helps roadie for him; I am one of the head music ministers. Andrew’s parents act as prayer team for those who want ministering. There are lots of other people involved in this as well.
3) September Concert Rally – Moodus, CT.
This September we will host a fundraiser for My Father’s House (a ministry run by a family. They mainly give talks and host retreats). Keith is organizing the bands, speakers, vendors, etc, and is basically running the show. He has a pro camera crew lined up to shoot the event. The plan is to have two stages and run it for two days. We still need volunteers galore.
4) Homeless ministry – Hartford, CT
Andrew runs a homeless prayer group in Hartford, CT at the Mercy Shelter. He plays his guitar and leads prayer ministry for the homeless there. In the summer, we will all go to New Haven and do homeless ministry outreach. There is a large population of homeless there and they tend to hang out in the park area. Our goal is to film the lifestyle of the homeless and bring to light what needs to change here.
5) Project Light – Video ministry
This is an upcoming project. Through the use of videography, we will film the current events and activities F2FCC CT is involved in, as well as projects for those promoting the Catholic Faith. Our goal is to showcase Catholic life in multiple venues in order to encourage fellow Catholics, spread our faith and bring light to injustices that exist in the United States and abroad. They will be aired on our public television stations here as well as on the internet.
Prayer requests:
- -Please pray that our team continues to grow in leaps and bounds; that we may outreach to our community and for the funds to do so.
- -For the workshop that Mark and Roberta will do here in April.
- -For Joe, and the Catholic Underground Team; that God would refresh them and bring them new energy.
- -For all of the pieces of the September concert rally to fall into place, and that we are able to line up good performers.
- -That the homeless ministry project grows and that we are able to effectively minister to and meet the needs of those we encounter.
- -For the safety of everyone involved in the Islamic ministry.
- -That we are able to do a training seminar for the video ministry soon. We also need our own video and editing equipment in order to receive donations.
- -Keith has been faithful to the dinner club ministry, but is in dire need of funds for advertising and prayer support. If God wants this to continue, it needs a boost!
